Een has vast experiences in many documentary film-making that concerns on issues of forestry, indigenous peoples, and marine biodiversity which involving indigenous peoples organizations, NGO’s, and government at national and international level as well as documented conflicts over forest destruction in several remote places in Indonesia.

His main documentary interest covering about the expulsion of indigenous peoples from their forest dwellings, implementation of controversial government policies, conversion of forest into large-scale plantations, wildlife poaching and other activities affecting the environment and natural resources in Indonesia. He also films local wisdom on forest management and protection and indigenous knowledge on forest product use.

He also currently works as Coordinator for Ciliwung River Care Community (KPC Bogor), and has become territorial Corporate Chairman of Western Java Area of Telapak Association (www.telapak.org) 2012-2016. His interest and passion for environmental issues, forestry and indigenous peoples in Indonesia began when he studied at the Faculty of Forestry in Bogor Agricultural University and joined the Student Society of Nature Lovers of Bogor Agricultural Institute (LAWALATA IPB). He formerly worked as Forest Researcher in Greenpeace South East Asia Indonesia Office, Producer, Cameraman, and Editor at Gekko Studio, Vice Director PT. Poros Nusantara Media, and Vice President Association of Indonesia Peoples’ Media and Television ASTEKI in 2012.

He has produce films about Non Timber Forest Product (NFP’s) that took shoots in South India on 2006 and received an award from “NUFF Global Film Festival (Climate Change) – Norwegian” for his work as cameraman in “Sui Utik, Wisdom of Heart Borneo” film on 2007. He also gained “Best Asia-Oceania Newcomer Award” from the “9th Japan Wildlife Film Festival”, for his Film “My Forest Tears”. One of his films “Sui Utik, Wisdom of Heart Borneo” (2007) has been screened at Freedom Film Festival in Serawak, Malaysia on 2008.
