Ulap Doyo Weaving

Ulap doyo or Doyo Weaving is one of Indonesia’s traditional weaving heritages that inherit by Dayak Benuaq tribe in Kalimantan. This weaving created from Doyo fiber plant leaves that had a strong and unique character. Doyo plant is a part of tropical plant in the Pandanus (screwpine) genus that is twisted into a ball of strings and than waved into a cloth. Doyo plants are easy to find by the Benuaq tribe, it grows under big trees and forests surrounding Benuaq tribe resident. This short movie was produce to support the preservation non-timber forest products as a part of Indonesia NTFP-EP initiative.
