Weaving Hope in Pantura’s Coast

Due to overexploitation, Java’s north coast is now degraded. In 2014, abrasion or coastline erosion occurred along 745.41 kilometers or 44% of the entire coastline, eroding an area of 12,878.53 hectares.

With sand-filled geotextile bags breakwater the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (MMAF) has implemented efforts to rehabilitate the northern Java coastline.
