Ports serve as economic hubs to bring together both producers and consumers in fishing industry. Indonesia accounts for at least 10% of worldwide fisheries products. Ocean resource potentials are spread throughout the country's Exclusive Economic Zones, with the most valuable fish including tuna, skipjack tuna, mackerel tuna, snapper, and grouper.
Unfortunately, only 3% of the total potentials are used because of many factors. Illegal fishing often take place, leading to a major loss.
